The LeMaster family history in Jay County goes back to the mid 1800's. Which for a time Jay County and Blackford County were all part of Randolph County. The family profession consisted of farming, public service, and several generations of teachers. When I started law school my grandmother, Helen LeMaster, pulled me aside and told me she was glad. She related that my grandfather, John L. LeMaster (a farmer and public servant), had wanted to be lawyer.
I am the son of Terry W. LeMaster and Gisela LeMaster (Hoose). The Hoose side of the family immigrated from Germany in the 1960's. My personal ties to the area have always been strong, having grown up in Jay and Randolph Counties. I graduated from Jay County High School in 1990, Ball State University in 1994, and Indiana School of Law-Indianapolis in 2000 (Mckinney School of Law as it is now known). I have been in practice about 20 years. My early practice was in real estate running and owning title companies. I soon began representing clients in divorces, bankruptcies, litigation, and criminal defense. The demands and needs of criminal defense had taken over my law firm by 2010. At the beginning of 2020 I had decided to start concentrating on other areas and left my contract job with the Jay County Public Defender. When covid hit in early 2020 plans had to change and I worked as Randolph County Department of Child Services as local counsel. We are rebuilding a private law practice and getting back to the title insurance industry.
I have been married to my wonderful wife Codi M. LeMaster (The daughter of Michael Ashcraft, Lori Wieck, and Ken Wieck, stepfather) since 2007. We have been blessed with 6 children (2 from my prior marriage) and 5 grandkids. We look forward to helping with your legal concerns. We hope to make this part of Indiana a better place to live for you, for me, and all of us. One client at a time.
